Downtown Role - AnySim Ivy

Are you tired of being alone in your bars and other venues? Would you love your sim's friend to gather up in the local coffee show after work? How about adding some reality by having a homeless person slobbing around in your community parks? AnySim role can do those and lot more. Just place this pot of ivy to your community lot and a "role sim" will appear.

Read the Downtown Roles Guide to learn more about the role mods and also try the other Downtown Roles that are still in beta testing.

  1. So this includes the tipplers bottle, dancers stage, and courtesan's perfume all in one plus more?

  2. Oh no. The other roles are still in testing. This is just plain "hangaround" role that originally came with the tippler's bottle. The other roles still need some bug corrections. I'll publish them one by one when they get ready.

  3. This is a great mod, thank you for sharing it with us misukisu!

Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug in my game: the any role sims lose their assignment every time I load the game. I've also tested the dancer, and that works fine, they still have their role after I load the game.

P.S. The only mods I was using were: NoIntro, NRaas_Register, NRaas_NoCD.

  4. Thanks for letting me know. I'll take a look if there is something I can do to fix that.

  5. Hi, misukisu, I'm having the same issue with the Any Sim, whenever I load the game, it assigns a new Sim to the role.

  6. Thanks for telling me. I'll see what I can do.

  7. Hello,

I like your mods.. I think they are the best ever. I was wondering if you can change them a bit to make possible choosing the days for the role sims. I request this because having my nightclub full of sims now will mean that other places (like the new SHT venues) would be probably less populated.. So if we are able to choose the day, I can decide that my sims will go to nightclubs every monday and tuesday for example, and have my clubs full of sims only during these days

  8. Hi mimi250,
That is a good idea, so I added a ticket to the issue tracker:
    http://code.google.com/p/virtual-artisan-s3mods/issues/detail?id=29

I'm afraid the changes will not come fast, but I do think the idea is worth implementing. Thank you.

  9. Hello! I came to download the updated version, but the download link is broken. Any chance you can whip another one up for me?

  10. Hi, the download links should work again now.

  11. Hi! I loved this mod actually. Added some excitement to my game. Will it be updated for Seasons and/or UL?? Thanks in advance for your reply!

    1. Hi Dolce,

It's updated for Seasons. I'm planning to update it also for UL, but I've not been playing lately so we'll se if and when I actually do that.

  12. First off I'd like to say a big thanks for this mod. It makes a terrific difference between having drab, empty venues to having fun-packed clubs with loads of sims. You say you may get round to updating it for UL. If so, might I make a request that the mod allows for younger age groups. It would be nice to have teen hangout venues with no adults, and parks where only children meet up. The mod as is, if I try to convert any of the generated NPCs to match the younger age groups, the game just gets rid off them. Whatever you decide to do, know that I am very grateful you made and shared this mod. Thank you.

  13. Hi, I love your mods, they are so different from any mods out there, such imagination! Will you update them for patch 1.55 or are they okay? Since Sims 3 is nearly coming to an end, it will be such a relief to just play and not worry about updates, but I particularly love this mod :)

    1. Hi,

Probably, eventually, I'll get back to gaming and update the mods. But that may take some time still.

  14. I would like to download this to use in my game, but I noticed it is not updated for the latest patch. Does anyone know if this will conflict with 1.55?

  15. i think this mod works in 1.55 version..i downloaded this and i put it in one of my venue but haven't explore more of its functions yet.:)

  16. I have patch 1.50 and it doesn't function fully. I no longer can assign roles for the Mistress or Dancer. The roles that were previously assigned before the patch update works somewhat. the Mistress still shows up to the venue and offers service, but the Dancer doesn't show up, and there it doesn't give the option to start a new dance.

  17. Jaana, now that the Sims 3 series is supposedly over, will you be updating this mod to be compatible with patch 1.63?

    1. Rebekah, I don't know. It all depends on how much I play. But I'm already waiting for Sims 4, so I think it's more probable that I won't be updating this mod. At least not very soon.

    2. Thanks, Jaana, for your response. Would it be alright with you then if I and some friends opened it up to see if we can update it ourselves and upload it for use? Credit would go to you of course for the original mod.

    3. Sure, go ahead. You don't even need to open it up, the code for all my mods is here: http://code.google.com/p/virtual-artisan-s3mods/

Please let me know if you update it, so that I can link to your site - so that people who come here looking for the mod can find it.

    4. Great thanks! Not guaranteeing anything, as I'm used to doing simple XML mods, but I'll try and put a team together.

  18. @slfrighteous, I'm just lol at your name! So funny!
I have to say from a Beta Testers point of view, I understand what you are both saying. Firstly, the modders I test for defintly mod because its their hobby, its not their job. They really love what they do and make mods for their game to enhance the enjoyment of it. Of course they are not obliged to anyone. But I have to say once you share it, you kind of have to expect people's comments on them as they have enhanced their own games with it and want to continue enjoying them. Its not their fault, you introduced them to these great mods which they'll never get anywhere else - if they could make them themselves they would, don't you think? I know I would! lol
I check here daily on the off chance that one of these mods on this site is updated as they were before with the previous patches until 1.42 - now none of them are. That's a shame, but hardly anything to get upset or angry about.
New players will simply skim over the page seeing the mods don't work, and move on but existing users like us can't help but continue hoping they will one day. Until we get any final notice or warning that they won't be updated anymore, then we'll keep checking. Would it have been a better option to not publish your mods in the first place, you ask? Hm, maybe, maybe not. Personally, I'm glad you did because at least I got a tatste of what is possible in Sims 3 and I'm grateful for that, because this mod was fantastic when it worked. I wish you would update it but its your perogative to choose not to. As for others, they'd probably say it would've been a better option not to have shared them, because you can't miss what you didn't have in the first place :)
I don't know how I feel about Sims 4, I'm still having so much fun with Sims 3, as there is so much I haven't done with it yet. I'll continue playing it, even when 4 is out. Whatever you make for 4 will be just as great as these, I'm sure.
If you ever do decide to update your mods for 3 I'd be happy to do any testing for you if needed! ;)

  19. What part isn't working for you lot? It's working for me in a 1.67 game.

  20. It works for me with 1.67 too :)

And together with updated NRaas Register, the role sim gets automatically paid!
